The Gandhi Alliance for Peace works to raise awareness for peace and to foster a peaceful world. Every action makes a difference.

Our past and present peace work, in cooperation with others, includes:

• Essay contests at Horizonte School
• Peace books and peace programs in elementary schools
• Raising money to remove landmines
  
• Raising money to educate children in refugee camps
  
• Speaking out against nuclear weapons and weapons testing
• Holding fundraising dinners, musical evenings, and drama
  
• Erecting a statue of Gandhi at the YWCA in Salt Lake City
  
• Sponsoring film series
  
• Holding an annual celebration of peace near the date of Gandhi's birthday (Oct 2, 1869).  We celebrate with music, dance, prayers, speeches, the planting of a peace tree, and the annual Gandhi Peace Award
