TOP BULLYING
This site has videos teaching about recognizing bullying and cyber bullying, what to do if you're bullied, what to do if you have bullied someone, and what to do if you see it happening. AND they have many other excellent resources for young people and adults.
SANDY HOOK PROMISE
Envisions a future where children are free from shootings and violence in schools, homes, and communities. The "Start with Hello" program empowers students to end social isolation by 1. Recognizing someone who is alone. 2. Learning how to reach out and help. 3. Starting with Hello--learning how to make a connection. The "Say Something" program teaches older students to recognize the warning signs of someone at risk of inflicting harm and how to talk to a trusted adult.
RESTORATIVE PRACTICES
Restorative practices work to repair harm through learning and community participation. Instead of winners and losers, conflicts are resolved through communication. Instead of punishment, students reflect on their mistakes and how they affect others. The link above goes to a blog post that explains restorative practices and gives resources.
UTAH BOARD OF EDUCATION SAFE AND HEALTHY SCHOOLS
Outlines Utah's current programs for establishing a positive and supportive school culture, as well as other programs for school safety.
